Chloe Elisabeth

I finally took exactly 96 pictures of Chloe today for Aunt Peggy- poor girl I probably blinded her from all the flash! It was fun to dress her up in different outfits and try to get her to smile; she is just now getting to the age where she stays awake for more than five minutes! She is still so little but is getting bigger every day. I hope I'll get a chance to do more in a few more weeks when she is even bigger. Enjoy!
I love her bow

 This hat was driving her nuts!

 Her little feet are so cute!

 Of course Elena had to be in a few pictures as well :-)

Happy Saturday!

Things are going well here in Cameroon! We are busy getting ready for Holiday Bible School. It starts on Monday and goes until Wednesday- it should be fun!
Yesterday it rained for about 4 1/2 hours straight! Elena went with Sam to run some errands. She loves to use her Dora umbrella!
 The power was out the whole time it was raining so we made dinner almost in total darkness. At least we had a lantern!
 All ready for bed! They are so cute together- Elena decided that Elias doesn't like sleeping in his bed anymore but wants to sleep in her bed with her :-) Just as if they would actually sleep!
 We were cutting out lions to use for Bible school and Elena wanted to cut up some paper too. I love the expression on her face; she was in such deep concentration!
 Getting ready for Bible school; please pray that many kids will come and be saved!
This is the first Saturday I've been here that we haven't had a wedding to go to! It's been nice to just be around for the day (although the weddings were a blast to go to!).
Have a beautiful day!!!

Just For YOU!

This post is especially for my good friends Jo and Phebes; I know how much you two enjoy seeing those creepy, crawly friends around and I wanted to be sure you got to see a few from Africa. Enjoy!!! I hope that someday you will also be able to see them for yourselves! Maybe I could bring some home for you? Haha, love you both!

Trip to Bamenda

Today we went down to Bamenda to do some shopping.
Oliver drove down to Bamenda with us; Elena decided she needed to take a nap and made Oliver her pillow :-) She was laying down for probably three seconds when she shot back up and said "I need to see if there are any cars around" haha, I guess being nosy tops taking a nap.

After shopping for a bit, we stopped at the British store to have a bit of ice cream ;-) It tasted yum but it was a little chilly!

The newest fad in Cameroon is being able to shop and leave your kids with the cashier!
 The Genesis, Exekiel, and Oliver spoil Elena and Elias like nothing else; they are always buying bon-bon's for them :-) What do you think of Genesis' hat?
 We went to dinner at a really nice restaurant! The people in the restaurant kept referring to Elena as baby and brought her this chair to sit in. She was sitting there happily eating her bon-bon when all of a sudden she exclaimed, "I'm not a baby!"
 The restaurant is very nice!!!
 In case any of you are worried that I might be starving over here; please don't! I am getting more than enough food :-) It was really yum!
 This ones for you, Dad! I finally found him :-) I hope you'll like him- he is very nice and as you can tell, I'm pretty excited at my discovery!
 On our way back home we picked up Elias from Rosemary's house. He loves kissing kitty cats just as much as he loves kissing Chloe :-)
 We are in Sabga again tonight but are headed home tomorrow in time for prayer meeting. We might go to the waterfall but it depends on the weather. Have a wonderful afternoon! Love and miss you all!!!

Fun With Friends

On Friday afternoon Rosemary, Ellen, and Sarah came over for lunch; I had a fun time getting to know all of them more! They brought over so much food so we had a feast. Rosemary was in charge of decorating for Felix and Evette's wedding so she suggested that I come help them. It sounded like fun so I packed a bag and jumped into Ellen's car to go to camp. We were a little stumped in the beginning but finally got some decorations up by midnight. We also had a fun time playin' around :-)
Rosemary recruited me to play the piano at camp for her on Friday night and then also wanted me to play in the wedding with her. She went and picked up her piano from the church and brought it over just so I could play along with her :-) It was really fun to play with her!
 Trying to figure out how to decorate... It's pretty tough when you only have a basket of decorations and no Walmart to run to :-)
 I asked Felix if he was nervous about the wedding and he said yes so I told him he needed to practice walking down the aisle. Erik was happy to help out :-)
 We were decorating and all the pastor's and the groom were just loungin' around singing and laughing. It was amazing how stress free the whole situation was.
 In case you caught sight of a big ball in the picture... The guys in the above picture were set on hanging the ball- they thought it would be funny. I told them they couldn't do it unless they decorated it. Well they asked Felix and he said he didn't care so they blew it up and hung it up.
Oh, this picture was also taken at 10:15 on Saturday- 15 minutes after the wedding was supposed to begin. Notice how many people are present (actually not present!) The wedding didn't start until 11:50 or so which was good I guess because as you can see from the picture we still weren't done decorating.
 Decorating pals- I had so much fun with them over the weekend! It is also a small world- Rosemary went to high school with Brad Sherman! Trinity and Mariah were not part of the decorating committee but they are so cute!
 Abby just took out this bouncer and swing to use for Chloe. I came out to see this- Elias was just sitting beside her in the bouncer:-) So cute.
 Young Scientist came over today to see Chloe- he is so funny!
 Elias and his best buddy :-) I don't know where he got these glasses but he came running out of his house with them on today which made us all laugh. Elias absolutely loves him and follows him around everywhere he goes.
Well I have hundreds more pictures I could share but I should be in bed. Have a wonderful evening!!! Love and miss you all

Weekend Update

We were driving to Camp Joy the other day- the sun was so pretty with the mountains in the background!
 Sam preached at camp last week so we all went along to have dinner and hear him preach
 Elena loves the new pillow her Grandma got for her :-)

 Enjoying some pure sugar cane :-)
 Friday we were planning on hiking to a waterfall but it ended up raining. Instead we visited the Pottery which was really awesome but ended up playing in this cool tree for most of the time :-)
Things are going great here!!! We are in Sabga for the next few days which should be fun :-) I have so much to tell you all; girls I can't wait to tell you about all my Doris moments! I am definitely missing you all here. Abz has been helping me out quite a bit though- she even called me Doris the other day :-) haha! Love and miss you all!

African Afternoon

Things are going well here! Thursday was a fun and busy day; I think the highlight of the day was when Abby and I got to give both the dogs a bath. Those who know me well know just how much I adore animals so bathing the dogs was definitely high up on my list of things to do in Africa. Ha, not! In the end, it wasn't as bad as I expected it would be but I am still not going into the dog bathing business!

Mommy Jane comes over two times a week to cook and clean. Thursday she made Cokie beans (no clue how to spell it?!). They have to be beaten for 15 minutes so she let us all take a turn.

Girls Day Out

Yesterday all us girls took a trip to town to go to the market. It was fun! We walked around and got some things Abby needed. Of course, we also had to stop for everyone to look at the new baby :-) One lady came up and was so excited about Chloe, after she left I asked Abby who it was and she said I have no idea! haha

We went to Veliz's house to give her a book Abby ordered for her. I took a picture of Elena and Miriam and then 6 or 7 other kids appeared out of nowhere so they could get in the picture too :-) The boy in red (Blendon) was so funny!
 We walked down to Veliz's neighbors so they could see the new baby; they were so excited and are coming over just so they can hold her :-)

Afternoon Update

 Happy birthday Simon! Sorry I can't be there to celebrate with you; I hope you have an awesome day!!!Love ya
~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~
Things are going well here; I have been having a blast with the kids and with Sam and Abby as well :-) We have been around the house for the past two days just getting things done. On Sunday I got to teach the kids in Sunday school, it was a lot of fun! I taught them a new song as well as a new game- they loved both. I also love how they call me "Auntie"; even though Abby told them my name they still called me auntie.
Tonight Sam is preaching at Camp Joy so we are all going to go for dinner and to hear Sam preach. There is another wedding this weekend so we will be back at camp for that on Saturday. I thought it was funny that I had to come all the way to Cameroon just to see a few weddings! I might move here; the weddings are pretty fun!
Other than that there's not much going on... I am staying busy chasing Elias around and doing stuff around the house. Elias is a crazy but fun boy :-) He cannot sit still for more than three seconds! Whenever he sees one of his friends he yells out their name no matter where they are;  one of the guys was up on the stage for the wedding and he just yelled out "Zek, Zek!"
So anyway, I am having a blast here :-) I hope you enjoy the pictures!!! I hope I'll post again more soon. Love and miss you all!
The other night at dinner the power went out; Elias kept pretending he was scared. They love the bibs Bethany! Elena wanted to wear one too :-)
 At Camp Joy- it is so beautiful!
 While we were doing laundry this morning I looked over and saw this. Elena had a Pez machine and she was sharing with Elias. I love to hear Elena speak Pidgen, she has a little accent and the way she says Elias' name is so cute. I tried recording it today but missed it- she always talk to Elias in Pidgen.
 Chloe's favorite things to do: eat and sleep
 Elias is so sweet and wants to kiss Chloe every time he sees her. He just hasn't realized that his kisses can be a little tough :-)
Hope you all have a wonderful day which is probably just now starting for some of you :-)
Love and miss you all!
